LTC Gerrit Van Schaick Quackenbush

Commissioned second lieutenant of infantry after service in the Spanish-American War, Quackenbush was ordered to duty with the 23rd Infantry in the Philippines. During WWI Col. Quackenbush was in command at Kelley Field, Texas. Following WWI, he was ordered to Paris.
