64th Graveside Ceremony honoring Uncle Sam Wilson of Troy, NY

TROY, NY – On Saturday morning, September 10th at 10:00 am, the Veterans of Lansingburgh, Inc. will host the annual service in Troy’s historic Oakwood Cemetery to commemorate the 256th birthday of Uncle Sam.  A flag-raising will be performed by the Troy Detachment Marine Corp League. A wreath will be presented by the Disabled American Veterans. This year’s guest speaker is Helen Hambuchen Painter of Conway, Arkansas, the great great great great granddaughter of Samuel Wilson.
